Day 1

Dr. Janakievski will lecture for the entire first day of this seminar with a detailed look at interdisciplinary care and dental implant aesthetics from a periodontists perspective.

Program Title

Strategies to optimize aesthetics in anterior tooth replacement

Program Description

Planning treatment for patients with missing anterior teeth can often be complex.  The resulting anatomy of the alveolar ridge after the loss of an anterior tooth or in the case of a congenitally missing tooth can be a challenge to re-develop during the restorative process. Numerous techniques have been developed to counteract this issue. These include hard & soft tissue augmentation protocols, immediate prosthetic replacement, orthodontic space/site management and tooth autotransplantation.

This presentation will discuss protocols used by Dr. Janakievski and his interdisciplinary team to optimize anterior aesthetics for our patients.

Program Objectives

  • Understand how orthodontics can assist in treating the implant  patient?
  • Learn how the alveolar and gingival architecture can be preserved or enhanced?
  • Understand how a poorly positioned implant affects the outcome?
  • Are implants always the treatment of choice when replacing missing teeth?
  • What treatment protocols do we use for patients with periodontal disease?

Dr. Janakievski will address these objectives and provide a systematic, interdisciplinary approach for managing these patients.

Day 2

On the second day of this seminar, Dr. Stephen Phelan will provide you with a restorative dentists perspective for restoring dental implants and advanced aesthetic cases.

Program Title

Strategies to optimize aesthetics for complex cases

Program Description

This presentation is designed to take your restorative skills with more complex aesthetic dental cases to a higher level. Treatment planning principles and implementation techniques for patients with problems of tooth size, shape, arrangement and position will be presented. Special attention will be provided for patients with single or multiple broken down and missing teeth.

Program Objectives

  • Learn a system for aesthetic evaluation, risk assessment, treatment planning and case presentation.
  • Learn how to optimize the aesthetics of your cases when the patient presents with a compromised situation.
  • Learn the keys to consider when you decide weather to maintain or remove a tooth.
  • Learn the restorative techniques to improve your predictability for patients with single missing teeth or multiple missing teeth using both fixed bridges and dental implants.
  • Learn systems for tooth preparations, impressions, provisionals and bonding and seating both implant and tooth supported cases.
  • Learn about guided implant surgery and how to incorporate this protocol into a restorative dental practice.

Dr. Phelan will address these objectives and provide a systematic, precise roadmap that you can take back to your practice and apply to your patients.
