Dr. Stephen Phelan is the founder of Phelan Dental Seminars.
Stephen has a dental practice in Oakville, Ontario where he uses the techniques that are taught in his seminars daily to treat his patients. The focus of his clinical practice is cosmetic, implant and rehabilitation dentistry. He is very passionate about dental education and has spent hundreds of hours training with some of the best dental educators in the world including Drs. John Kois, Frank Spear, Peter Dawson, Dennis Tarnow, Daniel Buser, Jimmy Eubank, Jeff Morley, Bill Strupp, Otto Zhur, Marc Hurzeler and Pascal Magne. Dr. Phelan is the creator of the Porcelain Veneer Masterclass, Core Build-Up Masterclass, Occlusion Design and Velocity Elite online training programs for dentists.
Dr. Naheed Mohamed is a Canadian Board certified Periodontist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Mohamed studied dentistry at the prestigious Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine. After completing his dental degree Dr. Mohamed went on further to specialize in Periodontics and Implant Surgery completing his residency at Case Western Reserve University and University Hospitals in Cleveland. During his time in Cleveland, Dr. Mohamed completed a Master’s Degree in Regenerative Medicine focusing on platelet rich fibrin and its healing properties for soft tissue palatal wounds. Dr. Mohamed has particular interests in minimally invasive and digital approaches to surgery. He also focuses on the use of regenerative medicine in surgery and the use of bio-engineering to grow bone and soft tissue to restore natural contours and save natural teeth. He has published articles and co-authored a textbook on digital approaches to minimally invasive surgery. Dr Mohamed practices in Oakville and Mississauga focusing on periodontics and implantology
Dr. Yosef Nahmias, DDS,MSc was born and raised in Mexico City. After he graduated from the Universidad Tecnologica de Mexico, School of Dentistry, in 1980, he decided to advance his education and chose Endodontics as his specialty. Dr. Nahmias earned his Masters of Science degree in Endodontics in 1983 at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry has involved him in teaching their postgraduate level students in endodontics. Dr Nahmias has authored many articles and continues to lecture in Canada and internationally. He has been a practicing Endodontist in Oakville, Ontario since 1983.
Dr. Margeas graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1986 and completed his AEGD residency the following year. He is currently an adjunct professor in the department of Operative Dentistry at the University of Iowa. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Operative Dentistry. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Aesthetic Dentistry, a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Society for Dental Aesthetics and International Team of Oral implantologists (ITI). He has written numerous articles on esthetic and implant dentistry, and lectures and presents hands-on courses nationally and internationally on those subjects. He is currently the Editor in Chief of Inside Dentistry, on the Editorial Board of Compendium, and is a contributing editor to Oral Health in Canada. His memberships include OKU Honor Dental Society, American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, and the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Margeas maintains a full-time private practice focusing on comprehensive restorative and implant dentistry in Des Moines, Iowa.
Dr. Marcos Vargas attended Cayetano Heredia University School of Dentistry in Lima, Peru and graduated in 1985. He spent two years, 1990 to 1992, in the AEGD program at the Eastman Dental Center in Rochester, New York. Dr. Vargas received his Certificate and master’s degree in Operative Dentistry in 1994 at the University of Iowa where he is currently a Professor in the Department of Family Dentistry. His primary research interests are in the area of dental materials including glass ionomers, dentin bonding, composite resins and esthetic dentistry. Dr. Vargas is also recognized for his expertise of Direct Restorative Treatment Procedures and conducts numerous lecture and hands-on seminars in the US and internationally. Dr. Marcos Vargas has published extensively in the area of dental adhesion and resin composites for over 25 years. He maintains a private practice limited to Restorative Dentistry with an emphasis on aesthetic dentistry.
J. William Robbins, D.D.S., M.A., maintains a full-time private practice and is a Professor in the Department of Comprehensive Dentistry at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental School. He graduated from the University of Tennessee Dental School in l973. He completed a rotating internship at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Leavenworth, Kansas and a 2-year General Practice Residency at the V.A. Hospital in San Diego, California. Dr. Robbins has published over 80 articles, abstracts, and chapters on a wide range of dental subjects and has lectured in the United States, Canada, Mexico, South America, Europe, Middle East, China, and Africa. He recently co-authored a new textbook, Global Diagnosis – A New Vision of Dental Diagnosis and Treatment Planning, which is published by Quintessence. He has won several awards including the Presidential Teaching Award at the University of Texas Health Science Center, the 2002 Texas Dentist of the Year Award, the 2003 Honorary Thaddeus V. Weclew Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentistry, the 2010 Saul Schluger Award given by the Seattle Study Club, the Southwest Academy of Restorative Dentistry 2015 President’s Award, and the 2016 Academy of Operative Dentistry Award of Excellence. He is a diplomate of the American Board of General Dentistry. He is past president of the American Board of General Dentistry, the Academy of Operative Dentistry, the Southwest Academy of Restorative Dentistry, and the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry.
Dr. Waheed V. Mohamed is an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon in Charlotte, North Carolina. His practice encompasses the full scope of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery including training fellows in both operating room and out-patient clinical settings. Dr. Mohamed received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Baylor College of Dentistry, followed by an internship in maxillofacial trauma and reconstruction in New Orleans. He completed medical school, his general surgery internship, and residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Louisiana State University – New Orleans. His training there involved dentoalveolar surgery, trauma, pathology, orthognathic surgery and cosmetic surgery of the face. After spending 10 years mastering the human face, he further went on to complete a fellowship cosmetic surgery. Dr. Mohamed is dual Board Certified by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery. His work in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina earned him a national community service award, and his research work also earned him a national resident award. He has also co-authored several chapters in the field of Oral & Maxillofacial surgery. Today, Dr. Mohamed continues to focus his extensive education and experience on Cosmetic & Reconstructive Surgery, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, mission work in Cleft Nose, Lip and Palate surgery, and training residents.
